At Explo, we want you to work hard, but also take the time you need to recharge and stay fresh. We trust our employees to take the time they need for themselves, whether for a full-blown vacation or just a mental health day.
What this means
- Employees can take off as many days a year as they'd like for personal reasons
- PTO days do not affect annual compensation
Important things to note
- Employees should discuss upcoming vacation dates with their manager. Even though there is unlimited PTO, it is important for the company to know when PTO is being planned as soon as possible so that it can be accounted for.
- Explo still needs to track time off so following the steps below and logging PTO in Rippling is required. Please log half days as well!
- Employees should discuss longer-than-usual vacations or sabbaticals with their manager. They will be handled separately from the standard vacation policy.
Steps to taking PTO
🎢 Vacation 2 days or less
- At least 2 weeks prior to days off, in Rippling go to the “Time Off” section of the app, and request the time off. Please fill in the reasons for taking the time off.
- Your manager will review and, if necessary, follow up to ask any clarifications before approving.
- Once your PTO is approved in Rippling, add a calendar block to the PTO calendar for the days off
🏖 Vacation 3 days or more
- At least 2 weeks prior to days off, message your manager to discuss the PTO. Together, you both will make sure that there is a plan in place while you are gone and ensure your team will have what it needs.
- Once approved, in Rippling go to the “Time Off” section of the app, and request the time off. Please fill in the reasons for taking the time off.
- Once your PTO is approved in Rippling, add a calendar block to the PTO calendar for the days off
🤒 Sick Days
- Notify your team if you are feeling unwell and set a calendar block
- In Rippling, select the "Time Off" app, select "Sick Leave Policy", dates, and fill in why you are taking time off
